2014 MLB catch-all thread
QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jun 19, 2014 -> 08:10 AM) Cardinals in the running now for most annoying fans and organization in baseball... http://sports.yahoo.com/blogs/mlb-big-leag...GlkA1NXSU1DMF8x I saw this all over my Facebook the past couple days and people complaining about it (live in the St. Louis area). I just now watched it and I don't see a problem with it.. They said Molina was a great catcher but they are just supporting their guy and they think he is better.. I can't stand the Cardinals fan base and the whole "we are the best fans in baseball" stuff they do.

Renting a place for the first time
QUOTE (Jake @ Jun 18, 2014 -> 11:00 PM) So the girlfriend and I are moving in about 6 weeks and need to line up a place. We had both lived on a college campus because we were working in residence life so this is our first foray into "real" housing. Of course, we have no idea how to avoid being scammed/having a bad experience in this process. What kinds of things should we look for as we look at places - hidden utility costs? Certain features? Some way to figure whether there will be maintenance issues? We'll also be moving to a place that we'll have only spent a few days before we move in; any suggestions for how to evaluate neighborhoods from far away? And if anyone knows anything about Columbus, OH, feel free to let me know anything specific. If you are renting from an apartment complex ask if they have a maintenance crew that will fix any problems for free or if there are charges.. See the internet/tv situation and what is and isn't allowed. Ummm make sure you find out everything you are responsible paying for/what is included in the rent charges. Try to find out when buildings were built and see if you can tour an open apartment or wherever your staying.

Nieto might start on Wed
QUOTE (Soxfest @ Jun 17, 2014 -> 11:26 PM) Day game after night game, I figured Nieto would start anyway. I don't think that has been the norm this year for some reason.. Not very often at least

Good. I would like to see how he handles Sale.

QUOTE (elrockinMT @ Jun 17, 2014 -> 08:36 PM) Nice to get some offense. I hope Flowers just tweaked something and it's not serious Wait, what? Flowers has been the worst hitter in the league the past few weeks. He needs a vacation

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jun 17, 2014 -> 08:31 PM) Nieto has the catching gear on and is getting loose. NO idea what is wrong with Flowers. Hope its a small injury that lands him on the 15 day DL and then after prompts his release

White Sox v Giants
Eaton is the man! Wish I could actually watch this game!
-
White Sox v Giants
Did Flowers swing at ball 4 on the 5th pitch? Well he ended up walking! Best case scenario with Flowers up

White Sox v Giants
QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Jun 17, 2014 -> 08:13 PM) One to right center and another one to RF. I believe the one to right center was a line drive and didn't look like it was high enough or even far enough to be gone without the wind.. Maybe a double in the gap which would have done just fine... And I remember the one hit to right field not being hit really hard. Not like I jumped out of my seat thinking it was going to be gone or not like I did with Abreu's. I know the wind hurt some of the balls that were hit but I don't think Beckham would have hit a home run if there was no wind on Sunday

QUOTE (Bigsoxhurt35 @ Jun 17, 2014 -> 08:09 PM) Dick Allen Post #46 Good for,Gordon. He had 2 homers taken away by the wind on Sunday. I was at the game and I don't in the 3 chances he had with runners on he had homers taken away from him by the wind.. Abreu did though. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jun 17, 2014 -> 08:09 PM) No one could hit in the clutch on Sunday. It was one of those days. Yeah, it was frustrating to watch along with Rienzo.. Hoping for a better game tomorrow (last game I can go to this year)
-
White Sox v Giants
Why couldn't Beckham do that on Sunday. He had 3 damn chances!

2014 AL Central catch-all thread
QUOTE (greg775 @ Jun 14, 2014 -> 11:57 PM) Amazing how the Royals' patience is paying off. Or their cheapness. Maybe they didn't want to pay Yost and his replacement, but suddenly KC looks like the class of this division. 10 wins in last 14 games with the bats waking up and the rotation looking very good. They are just on a hot streak right now. If they can do it for the majority of the year then maybe they turned it around.. But most teams could on a hot streak at some point in the year. I think I remember them doing it last year when Brett was named hitting coach but a few weeks later they went back to be the Royals
-
White Sox v Giants
Can't start Nieto two games in a row because actually putting the ball in play some how and getting on base a couple times a game is frowned upon in this line up.. Striking out is the only way to go..

Royals vs White Sox
QUOTE (greg775 @ Jun 15, 2014 -> 04:02 PM) This proves again hitting coaches don't matter. It's all up to the player. Flowers, Viciedo and Gillaspie were once doing amazing. Now they are awful. So let's face it. It's up to the player. Obviously. The hitting coach isn't swinging the bat..
