If Machado signs for 8/250, the Sox were never serious to begin with. Not putting too much stock in what Heyman is saying though. He is all over the place today.

As far as national writers go, the offer that is out there from the Sox is that lowball offer of 7/175. I can't imagine the PR damage Manny signing with SD would cause.
