Just a meager 31 K's in the 3 game series, for the White Sox offense. (so far).
striking out too much is not the team‘s problem at all

Opposite field hitting is a lost art for a reason

i usually give catchers a pass on that, but it’s not like he has been playing for 9 innings defensively

Because they brought in a lefty and Reese is a lefty while Zavala is a righty. Lefties cannot face lefties, ever. You know that.
We all know TLR is a rules expert since that game against the Reds, I think it’s actually illegal

Hitting grounders just like he has been on the team the whole time

Hell of a job by Banks, but still baffling our bullpen is this depleted

Just bad technique. He needs more reps at 3B. He's not going to improve his defense by DHing.
I always liked him defensively, he has good hands, maybe it’s a mild case of the yips or something

so let me get this straight, reylo and banks are the only available relievers. how is that possible?

Moncada is obviously in a terrible slump and has been dreadful, but I don’t know what giving him random PH at bats is going to accomplish

Banks should have been out of the inning, that blown call against Seager was atrocious umpiring

He also couldn’t ever lay off high fastballs…then the low and away slider issue.
Sigh.
I just wanted to point out that teaching the let the ball travel deep approach has been a thing for over a decade. It’s completely bonkers.

For the longest time they wanted power pitchers to pitch to contact...
I know Viciedo was not good, but in the minors he would crush inside fastballs. Once he got to the big club he was constantly beat inside and would look to push the ball to right field- Same with Eloy in the Cubs system.
It‘s like baseball coaching from the fucking 50s.

Luis tho. Good lord. He needs to go back to drawing board. He’s worthless at the plate right now.
The White Sox love their power guys to be opposite field hitters which makes no sense at all.
Lift and pull is an old sox meme, but they need a lot more of that and refuse to let their players play to their strengths.

6 pitches one of them was masbe a strike resulting in an easy groundout.
White Sox offense in a nutshell

btw props to Cueto for stepping in, yeah he gave up some runs early on, but he has settled in nicely

TLR just thinks this team is going to turn it on, it’s not happening. Sox are under.500 since last August. Team is flawed with this roster of DH’s!
This talking point always makes me pause cause you’d think a team full of DHs could hit
-
how are we going to blow this?
haven‘t seen a 1-2-3 DP in a while

Always fun starting off an inning with Leury & McGuire.
First pitch outs, gotta love that. Sox have to be leading the league in that category

for a guy obsessed with handedness, now would have been a good spot to pitch Bummer

Nice job by Lambert, even tho it wasn’t pretty. Now let’s win this fucking game.
Lambert with a very effective use of the throw it down the middle and hope for the best strategy
