Can somebody rate them 1-5 defensively?

I'm intrigued by Rutherford. Even if the pop never develops, he has really good bat control and looks like he can work the ball around the field (i'm basing this off the video available online. never seen him in person). If he's a plus defender, his bat will play, especially if we can make up for the lack of power in other spots around the field.

I could be wrong but I think defensively its probably:

    1 Basabe

    2 Robert

    3 Rutherford

    4 Adolfo

    5 Jimenez

Basabe and Robert both have CF capabilities.

Rutherford has a bit more flexibility than Adolfo in the outfield but Adolfo has a cannon for an arm in right. Probably the best outfield arm in our system.Unfortunately the UCL injury jeopardizes that.

  2. Also, does anyone else with MILB.tv know why Birmingham seems to have the worst broadcast quality?  No on-screen scoreboard, weird camera angles, and sometimes they just aren't even broadcast at all.  I'm a new subscriber, is this how it's always been for the Barons? AAA and A+ don't seem to have the same issues.

I have no idea how accurate MILB Gameday is, but Adolfo just took four pitches that were barely balls for a walk. He really seems way more selective this year.

I'm not sure who I'm more excited about right now between Adolfo and Basabe but it's a good dilemma. Both guys look great so far in 2018.

I would love this deal for the Sox. Ellsbury's contract sucks but it's worth it to get Brinson and possibly other prospects as well. And it's possible that the Yankees/Milwaukee could eat some of his contract too.

Absolutely no shot the sox are taking on that Ellsbury contract.

I just can't believe anyone still has him in the top 100 in all of baseball.. surprises me

Rutherford had a quote in the Athletic saying he grew another inch to inch and a half this offseason. It's easy to forget how young he is and still coming into his body. Obviously would like to see an improvement at the plate in 2018 but I don't think he should lose all of his stock as a prospect.

  6. Talk of the MLB expanding to two more cities and realigning their current structure has been circulating online this week. This article proposes some possible changes:

    http://www.baseballamerica.com/columnists/...CgDpd02WuY1L.97

    The main changes would be:

    - 156 game schedule

    - Four divisions of eight teams (Sox divsion has Cubs, Brewers, Cardinals, Rockies, Royals, Astros, and Rangers)

    - 12 playoff teams (Four division winners play winners of four play-in games)

Personally, I would be pretty surprised to see the MLB shake things up this much. It's an interesting idea though and does make sense on a lot of levels. Would love to see the Brewers in the Sox division. Cubs vs Sox in a division race would be very interesting to say the least.

    Thoughts?

I posted it yesterday and I still think it would be true

Schwarber or Happ, Eloy and Cease will be the cub haul.

I think Schwarber is in the deal for no other than reason than to add a name. If he fails in the next year or two years no problem.

Theo needs to make a move and they have zero need for Schwarber. Cease and Eloy are the names the Sox need.

Cubs aren't giving up that much. No way they give up more than 1 of Schwarber/ Happ/ Jiminez. Would be a great haul for Sox though.
