FS: Weekly Minor League News & Notes, 7/23

Two farm teams have clinched playoff spots so far this year, Madrigal and others that keep hitting, more injuries to report along with other transactions, the Sox sign a few flamethrower reclamation project, and more in this week's News and Notes. Get up to speed!

You the man north side. Thanks for the consistently great coverage of the minors. Contributes a lot of joy and entertainment to the daily grind

Any chance Laz Rivera makes into the Top 30 when the mid-season list is released?

Thanks, though it's Eric who wrote this one. We appreciate it!

We are in the middle of the discussions (arguments? battles?) now for the new list, and Rivera is a hot topic hovering right around the back end. Don't know for sure yet if he will make it, but he will be close if he doesn't.

Eloy now is approaching an OPS of 1000 split between AA and AAA.  I'm not sure how you can claim keeping him down the rest of the year is the best thing for HIS development.  It might make sense (might) 7 years from now (for the Sox) but I just don't see how anybody can think he has anything left to prove down there.  All he's done is hit since he got here.  He should be up as soon as the trade deadline passes and the Sox can reconfigure their 25 and 40 man -- imo of course.
