In your heart of hearts...

Featured Replies

I know I've come out as saying, I'm cheering for the Cubs this series because of Ron Santo.

But I couldn't help but feel a twinge of a smile when the Marlins won yesterday. And now I feel resentful after the Cubs won today.

It has become clear, my feelings on the Cubs. I want them to lose.

My strategy has come to this, whatever team I cheer for, seems to lose. ex. White Sox. This was confirmed yesterday when I cheered for the cubs, and they lost. Today, when I realized it made me smile when the Cubs lost, I cheered against the Cubs, and they won.

So now... I want the Cubs to lose the series. But I'm afraid to cheer for it because the opposite just may happen.

In my heart of hearts, I fear they're going to win and advance. Hell, if they meet the Red Sox, they may even win it all.

So my question is, in your heart of hearts, all biased feelings aside, do you think the fish can pull it out?

(It's a shame really. I feel we could have played the Yankees, defeated them, defeated the Red Sox, and knock these bastards off ourselves.)

I grew up in Chicago, but have moved away for many years.

For some reason I want the Cubs to win for the sake of the city.

I would like to see the hex end.

But I have gotten no joy out of them winning, of course.

I have many friends violently opposed to this. They are rooting wildly against the Cubs,

but I tend to think it's good for the city if they win.

Is everybody on here adamantly against the Cubs?

I don't follow their team at all, but I am not against the idea of the Cubs winning it.

The Cubs sure make it look easy to win in the playoffs right now. That is frustrating me alot right now. I miss the White Sox already.

To answer the original question, I think the Cubs will beat the Fish.

I've been cheering for the Marlins since July or August when I saw them on ESPN and realized they were a fun team to watch. I'm not stopping now.

And I do think they have what it takes to beat the Cubs...heart.

Hey. That's the way I see it. Of course, the question called for an unbiased answer. That does not mean I WANT the Cubs to win. I just think they will.

So .... :fyou too! :bang

I would rather choose denial over saying ANYTHING good or nice about the Cubs, and normally Im very objective.......... :finger
