  1. QUOTE(The Critic @ Dec 17, 2005 -> 12:19 AM) I had several number 1's and a number 2 today. But no book from Sports Illustrated. lol
  2. Does anyone know where we can possibly mail a Thank You card to him personally?
  3. QUOTE(Irishsox1 @ Nov 3, 2005 -> 10:38 AM) I got the Sun-Times 11 x 14 photo of the Sports section cover in the mail yesterday. It's the one that is a photo of the team celebrating and says CHAMPS at the bottom. It's a cool photo and I'm going to put it in a frame. Other than that, I have a wish list on the MLB site of all the stuff I want. World Series flag, bumper stickers (I'm going to put those on Cubs fans cars), WS shirt and hat, little WS trophy desk weight and a massive White Sox banner. The one thing that I'm working on, is that I'm putting all the highlights on DVD. But for game 4 of the WS, I'm putting the entire game and all the celebration on DVD. I got the double layer DVD's for that. Whoa. How exactly are you doing that? do you have your tivo hooked up to your computer somehow?
  4. I just picked up the SI special commemorative edition for the White Sox. The writing was okay, but it didn't provide much more than what I read already in the regular SI issues. In some cases the articles were pretty much lifted from the regular issues. I liked the issue, but I was trying to find something with writing that better captured the moment. (If you've read the issue, you realize that Minnie Minoso's article doesn't really cut it.) Of course I'm going to pick up the dvd's as soon as they are released... but what else should I look into?
  5. Yeah, I know it's just a high school freshman english class, but I think I agree with the grade on this one. I think that C will force you to write better next time around.
  6. Now that the White Sox have become world champions, I sort of have that "Now What?" feeling about me. Yeah of course I want to repeat and all, but it does seem a bit greedy after having wanted just ONE for so many years. It's sort of like that feeling when you just graduated college and don't know exactly what is next. After all it really is the wanting that is the fun part more than the having. It is the journey more than the destination (no pun intended). Having this championship for my favorite team leaves me fulfilled but a little bit empty inside at the same time.
  7. QUOTE(SSH2005 @ Oct 28, 2005 -> 02:35 AM) Oh Lord, it's true. By the way, that's the first and last time I will ever visit Oprah.com. :puke How the hell does that work? Doesn't Oprah air at like 10am? Unless they tape really early Friday morning... or they tape on Thursday night/afternoon I just don't see how they can work it out.
  8. QUOTE(IlliniKrush @ Oct 27, 2005 -> 03:35 PM) Just got done cleaning the place up. We took some pics of the aftermath, SnB will have those up later. Still smells like champagne in here Awesome. Do you guys live on fourth and healey! Those 4 sunroofs look extremely familiar to this recent grad...
  9. QUOTE(joeynach @ Oct 26, 2005 -> 02:19 AM) So the question is if, hahaha, more like when we win, and well all go nuts is it cool for us to just grab the nearest gal (sox fan preferably) and just start kissing her. Reminds me of the celebration in NY after the Germans surrendered in WWII and the troops returned home, all the soldiers were just grabbing the nearest girl and planting a big wet one on her. So is that gonna fly for possibly the biggest celebration we have ever seen???? P.S. Keep in mind im thinking college bars here (purdue), Im only 21!! Okay man. Yeah I don't think that's real kosher lol. You might get arrested or at the very least have to pay her...
  10. QUOTE(IlliniKrush @ Oct 18, 2005 -> 11:22 AM) Astros = lottery Cardinals = lottery Sox = piss everyone off Yeah that's a good point. Why didn't the White Sox have a lottery? I guess our franchise isn't exactly experienced with these things.
  11. QUOTE(zoonie824 @ Oct 18, 2005 -> 11:20 AM) ya im still stuck on 3 minutes it was mildly entertaining though that my secret word was nipling. gave me a good immature laugh LOL! My secret word was "tampeon" hahaha.
  12. QUOTE(FLsouthsider @ Oct 18, 2005 -> 11:17 AM) I tried for game 6, got past the word verification, had four minute wait, then nothing available. whoopee. was checking some ticket broker web sites, cheapest I saw was $700 a seat. oh well. I miss the old days of camping out dangerously overnight.
  13. QUOTE(bmags @ Oct 18, 2005 -> 11:09 AM) if you press "can't see the word" it'll take you to a page that has a link that bypasses it...well it did for me... god dammit i was soooooooo excited...i got out of philosophy just in time too...sumb**** OH MY GOD I can't see the f***ing word!
  14. QUOTE(Texsox @ Oct 17, 2005 -> 09:15 AM) Thanks for sharing. Sometimes if you look hard enough, you'll see what you want to see and damn everything else around you. As long as you're looking for a White Sox victory, I'll help you look.
  15. QUOTE(Antonio Osuna @ Oct 17, 2005 -> 09:33 AM) Man Soo Lee really enjoys his life. Either that or he fakes it really, really well. Hahaha. Yeah I noticed the same thing too! Wow I didnt' realize he was on the 2000 team as well. LOL.
