QUOTE (LosMediasBlancas @ Aug 23, 2008 -> 12:04 PM) Looks like I'll be in town for Sept 9th-16th. Any good shows in town during that time? There are good looking shows on September 8th (Spiritualized) and 17th (Cut Copy or Low), but nothing in your time window. That's too bad. On another note, two nights ago I saw Joanna Newsom with the CSO. I would put it on the short list (With Radiohead and Wilco) for my favorite concerts ever.

Anybody going to Lollapalooza? I think the lineup is great this year. Besides Radiohead, I'm really excited to see Broken Social Scene, Okkervil River, The National, Cat Power, Stephen Malkmus, Grizzly Bear, Explosions in the Sky, and Wilco. Also, is anybody into Tindersticks? I just discovered them a couple weeks ago and they are quickly becoming one of my favorite bands.

QUOTE(Rex Kicka** @ Jan 30, 2008 -> 12:37 AM) Has anyone heard the new Vampire Weekend album? The two songs I've heard thus far have been wonderful. Also diggin Datarock a lot lately. I'm about halfway through Vampire Weekend, it sounds pretty cool. Also, anyone else really excited for that Okkervil River/New Pornographers tour?

The 2007 Album Recommendation Thread
BMags, I don't take any offense to your dislike of ambient I find the album very helpful in allowing me to relax when I'm stressed out, and I love to listen to it while I read or write. I agree it's not an album you listen to for complete entertainment, but it has merits that regular music does not. To each his own I suppose.

The 2007 Album Recommendation Thread
QUOTE(bmags @ Dec 3, 2007 -> 09:15 PM) I really just can't believe this is true. what's not believable about it I doubt I'll ever enjoy an ambient album any more, it's got beautiful music in it. If you think my #10 is bad, it's #1 on metacritic's top albums of the year.

Woke up at 6 AM this morning to listen to the new Radiohead album It's only one listen, but I find myself disappointed. The album is all very good, but Videotape was infinitely better live than it is on this album, I can't believe they screwed up that song
