  1. QUOTE (LosMediasBlancas @ Aug 23, 2008 -> 12:04 PM) Looks like I'll be in town for Sept 9th-16th. Any good shows in town during that time? There are good looking shows on September 8th (Spiritualized) and 17th (Cut Copy or Low), but nothing in your time window. That's too bad. On another note, two nights ago I saw Joanna Newsom with the CSO. I would put it on the short list (With Radiohead and Wilco) for my favorite concerts ever.
  2. QUOTE (MEANS @ Aug 17, 2008 -> 04:47 PM) I may not post as much as I did back in 04 but I'm here everyday reading up on my favorite team with a bunch of knowledgeable fans. I think the site is a good now as it was then. ^^
  3. QUOTE (MHizzle85 @ Jul 28, 2008 -> 08:51 PM) So anyone going to Lollapalooza this weekend? I'm still deciding if I wanna go. If 3 day passes haven't sold out I'd still get one I'm pumped for Radiohead, Wilco, Broken Social Scene, Okkervil River, and The National
  4. Joanna Newsom to play show with CSO this august I don't think I've ever been so excited for a concert.
  5. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Apr 24, 2008 -> 06:38 PM) Digging the new Portishead (leaked copy). It's my favorite album of the year so far.
  6. Anybody going to Lollapalooza? I think the lineup is great this year. Besides Radiohead, I'm really excited to see Broken Social Scene, Okkervil River, The National, Cat Power, Stephen Malkmus, Grizzly Bear, Explosions in the Sky, and Wilco. Also, is anybody into Tindersticks? I just discovered them a couple weeks ago and they are quickly becoming one of my favorite bands.
  7. QUOTE(Rex Kicka** @ Jan 30, 2008 -> 12:37 AM) Has anyone heard the new Vampire Weekend album? The two songs I've heard thus far have been wonderful. Also diggin Datarock a lot lately. I'm about halfway through Vampire Weekend, it sounds pretty cool. Also, anyone else really excited for that Okkervil River/New Pornographers tour?
  8. The new Mountain Goats cd "Heretic Pride" leaked. It sounds great
  9. BMags, I don't take any offense to your dislike of ambient I find the album very helpful in allowing me to relax when I'm stressed out, and I love to listen to it while I read or write. I agree it's not an album you listen to for complete entertainment, but it has merits that regular music does not. To each his own I suppose.
  10. QUOTE(bmags @ Dec 3, 2007 -> 09:15 PM) I really just can't believe this is true. what's not believable about it I doubt I'll ever enjoy an ambient album any more, it's got beautiful music in it. If you think my #10 is bad, it's #1 on metacritic's top albums of the year.
  11. QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Nov 29, 2007 -> 09:47 PM) The National - Boxer Game ova. can't argue there here's my top 10 list. 1. Boxer-The National 2. In Rainbows-Radiohead 3. Neon Bible-The Arcade Fire 4. Spirit If…-Broken Social Scene Presents Kevin Drew 5. The Stage Names-Okkervil River 6. Strawberry Jam-Animal Collective 7. Love is Simple-Akron/Family 8. Ash Wednesday-Elvis Perkins 9. Random Spirit Lover-Sunset Rubdown 10. Stars of the Lid and the Refinement of the Decline-Stars of the Lid
  12. Woke up at 6 AM this morning to listen to the new Radiohead album It's only one listen, but I find myself disappointed. The album is all very good, but Videotape was infinitely better live than it is on this album, I can't believe they screwed up that song
  13. If you go to Radiohead.com you can have a download of their new album sent to you on October 10nth for FREE
  14. QUOTE(sox4lifeinPA @ Sep 28, 2007 -> 04:48 PM) yeah, me too. don't worry, I'm pretty sure that page was a hoax
  15. I just picked up Neil Young tickets 20th floor on the main level, not bad.
  16. In 2000 I think I remember a game being down 10-0 to the Royals and we came back to win in extra innings. Edit: actually just checked and we were down 9-1 in that game, and ended up winning 14-10, but no extra innings, and since it was against the Royals, it's definitely not the best comeback in our history
  17. QUOTE(maggliopipe @ Sep 6, 2007 -> 08:35 PM) Two words: Sunset Rubdown. I'm probably late to the rubdown party but this is solid. It's a side project of Spencer Krug's (of Wolf Parade lore), a little more experimental than Wolf Parade but it really grabs you after a few listens. Random Spirit Lover is a really good album
  18. The new Devendra Banhart leaked it's different than his other albums, I need to give it more listens
  19. Anyone been playing the new Metroid? I'm a metroid novice, but since the wii is kind of lacking in the good game category I had to go out and get it. It seems fun so far, and the graphic's are great for a wii game, but I'm pathetically bad when in combat, I can't even beat the first boss right now.
  20. Can't wait to see springsteen again
  21. QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ Aug 28, 2007 -> 02:02 AM) Sure it could, subtract Dylan. :stick
  22. QUOTE(OilCan @ Aug 26, 2007 -> 06:17 PM) ACL Fest next weekend in Austin, TX....wish I was going.... Muse, The White Stripes, Queens of the Stone Age (whose new CD Era Vulgaris totally rocks), Spoon among others that will attend. not to mention the Arcade Fire, Wilco, Yo La Tengo The Decemberists, LCD Soundsystem, Andrew Bird and Bob Dylan could a festival be any better?
  23. I was at last night's game, and it might as well have been a Boston home game. atleast 75% of my section were rooting for Boston, and they were certainly drowning out all the White-Sox fans, atleast from my perspective I know it certainly didn't help that we were losing by so much, but in a sold-out home game I was baffled that there seemed to be more red-sox fans than white-sox
  24. QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ Aug 24, 2007 -> 12:36 PM) I've been otta touch for a few months. What's new that I should check out? Any good shows in Chicago between 8/30 and 9/10? Akron/Family and the Flaming Lips are playing 9/7 I went with Akron/Family Animal Collective is on 9/10
  25. New Springsteen album Oct 2nd :snr
