  1. QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Aug 11, 2005 -> 11:45 AM) Playoffs are a different game. Like I said earlier in this thread we'll be hearing about how we can't beat oakland and they'll be hearing how they can't get out of the first round. good point i also think danny haren will crumble, leaving them with 2 dependable starters only not to mention bbtn says the sox dont have playoff experience but there all sold on the a's yet zitos there only starter whos been in the playoffs while we have hernandez and freddy, plus buehrle and garland arent rookies so they should be able to handle themselves ok so i say take oakland and kick their asses
  2. i think the real test is the fenway series the redsox are becoming pretty good so i think ill be convinced we can win it all if we atleast look good against them if we cant take 2 outta 3
  3. my favorites are: bob dylan the who the rolling stones bruce springsteen jimi hendrix U2 led zeppelin velvet underground neil young david bowie pink floyd the doors eric clapton green day allman bros.

  9. QUOTE(The Ginger Kid @ Jul 21, 2005 -> 10:53 PM) Ozzie's been preaching all year that we'll know what this team is made of when they hit a rough stretch. I'm not convinced this is a rough stretch...yet...but if it is, let's see how they pull for each other. im saying this is a rough stretch because of HOW were losing as in beating ourselves
  10. Everyone was hoping it wouldnt happen but besides dominating cleveland the sox are struggling a bit and allthough there isnt much good on the outside of this i think the sox will pull out of this better than ever and prove to all the doubters how strong of a team they are i think some people have said before is you see how strong a team is when they bounce back from tough times
  11. QUOTE(jphat007 @ Jul 21, 2005 -> 11:39 AM) He's given up 4 runs or less in 16 of his 19 starts. He's given up 3 runs or less in 12 of his 19 starts. He has gone to the 7th inning in 14 of his 19 starts. Would have been 15 but he got hurt in the game he was dominating against KC. Inconsistent? Not so much. He has as many "bad" (More than 4 runs) outings as Burly and Garland at 3. Going into his game the other night he was 20th in the league in ERA. So in other words, maybe you should look at the numbers before you make ridiculous, and incredibly wrong, statements like this: "That said, its not surprise that he's inconsistent and he's been a little better than even his biggest supporters might have guessed." i understand your points but even in the games where he allows 3 or 4 runs he seems to walk himself into jams then pitch out of it so maybe its his control that bothers me the most but he also has looked incredible in 3 or 4 starts
  12. shows flashes of brilliance now and then but seems to inconsistent making me nervous since im seeing him pitch sunday
