Article on Reed

This is a good article on Reed. We need a left hander in the line up. I like his build up, hitting for average and with gap power.

Anybody else think it was really sad that the whole article was about Reed and the only picture was of Neal Cotts who said one measly quote about him?

I made the same comment on another board. Seemed weird. They must not have had a picture of Reed to use.

I think Reed should get at least 200 AB's in Charlotte before he gets called up. AA to the bigs is a big jump. Plus, Rowand should get a chance at center.

I agree that Rowand should get his shot. If for no other reason than to increase his trade value, if Reed does turn out to be the real deal.

It would be very hard not to play read if he tears the cover off the ball in spring training.

Who is Read? Did we get a new player? ;)

You're in rare form this morning, aren't you?

Wonder if he knows Barry/Berry?

If Magglio is in fact traded we might see Reed up here sooner than we all think.

Hey Cabrera went from AA to the Majors, it will be interesting to see what the Sox plans are.

*Shakes Fist* :P

With what went down this season, there needs to be a change in personal. If that means getting rid of Maggs, to make room for some young guns, so be it. Im tired of coming up short.

Just to let you know, we wouldn't be getting rid of Maggs to make room for younger players. We'd be getting rid of him because he makes $14 mill next year.

But who whould fill his position? Most likley a "young gun" like I said.

If the Sox are going to replace Maggs with someone young I can't imagine it being Joe Borchard, he's simply not ready. Jeremy Reed would be great but I'd like for him to start off in AAA. So if the Sox aren't looking for a replacement veteran to take over for Maggs what could our outfield look like?

KW said he'd like to have a lot of grinders this year.....does that mean we'll see an outfield of Lee in left, Harris in center and Rowand in left? If that's the Sox plan this year than I can already tell we're headed for a BIG DISAPPOINTMENT. :bang

CW, I think you are right. 2004 would be a highly disappointing season with two left fielders, especially once teams figured out they could just hit it to right field and practially run all day. ;)
