Top 100 Midseason Prospects for 2019

Andrew Vaughn, 1B (CHW)- One of college baseball’s greatest hitters, Vaughn combines contact, on-base, and power. He projects to be a middle of the order bat for the next decade with the ability to ascend quickly. Previous Rank: N/A.

Discuss.

This is the first I'm hearing of this publication, is their rep any good?

"If you skipped the headline for some weird reason, these are fantasy rankings. As such, we value batters over pitchers and don’t give much weight to elite defenders just because their glove is good"

Exactly^

This is in terms of fantasy, not necessarily real life. Madrigal would be considerably higher due to his above average defense at 2B.

Vaughn likely starts out around #35 overall at MLB.com when the new rankings come out. The bat is for real and he could move quickly through the system.

I think 35 is a bit rich for now. fangraphs has him around 50 now. But if he rakes in high A for 300+ PAs (say 1000 ops) he could move into the top30 rather quickly.

On the mlb pipeline podcast they said Vaughn would slot in somewhere around 30.

It's at about 38 minutes in where they touch on Vaughn.
