October 16, 200322 yr Can we NOT talk about the Cubs until sometime next year when we face them or their team does something really stupid? we can always remember that that the last team to beat Prior and Wood back to back was the Sox... albeit in 2002... and I agree, order has been restored in the universe and they lost in the best/worst possible way as long as they made the playoffs ... now whoever wins tomorrow, that is who I cheer for in the world series - always got to go AL, I am an AL fan and may the Al champ prevail

And as much as I'd like to see Boston get there tomorrow, I'm riding the Marlins wave. Like the rest of the state i fell in love with the team in '97. And like the rest of the state I got disgusted when Wayne gutted the championship team and have had little interest in NL ball since. This WS we make amends. Go 2003 Marlins!

But the Sox have been major league since 1901, the Marlins for 11 years, and damned if I want them to have as many world series wins as we do even the yankees - wtf - they might be the AL champ - gottta go with my league - red sox fans are no bargain so whatever happens, happens hell, I even cheered for OSU against Miami in the Fiesta Bowl - I always go with my league, whatever it is - sometimes it is tough, but be true to your school and all that - always enjoy your posts - hope all is well!

Well, CA had the presence of mind to get a governor with a $38B defecit recalled and kicked out of office, so I HIGHLY doubt they are the dumbest state in the Union. Fact is, CA is more like a country than a state, so it's ran much differently than most other states are, as it's much more complex.

You mean a state that essentially offers incentives to illegal aliens, and then wonders why it is $38 billion in the red?

Well all states offer benefits to illegals, but it's that CA has so many more than any other state that it really hurts us. If the Federal Gov't would realize that we need more border patrolmen and/or the military at the border, perhaps that problem would be solved.

October 18, 200322 yr we can always remember that that the last team to beat Prior and Wood back to back was the Sox... The only reason it didn't happen this year is because Prior pussed out of pitching against us this year. Had he pitched against us, that trend would have continued.
