The WNBA, and NWSL, deserve to be considered as major professional leagues in this country. For that to happen, however, every one of their franchises has to be pulling its weight or, better yet, punching above it. Major League Baseball is established enough it can tolerate the Chicago White Sox being a laughingstock without them dragging everyone else down. The WNBA isn’t there yet. Not yet, anyway.

The Chicago White Sox are not just the worst team in baseball – a stunning designation given the Oakland A’s existence – they are essentially egging on the rest of the league to lap them.

That’s more than enough to sign a six-month lease in the cellar of USA TODAY Sports’ power rankings. Perhaps not so great, though, if they truly hope to hoodwink Chicago into a new stadium.

Also, Wintrust Arena downtown has a current seating capacity of 10,387 fans...so not sure if it will actually be possible for the SKY to outdraw the White Sox for a home game THIS season since the Sox still haven't announced an official attendance under 10,000 (even for that Royals' combined DH when the weather was terrible).

That might have to wait for the 2025 schedule.
