September 7, 2025Sep 7 What a really wonderful story. Cool insight into Steinbrenner/Billy Martin, Frank Robinson, Ron Guidry, Thurman Munson, even Ozzie; especially loved the story Claire Smith told. A tearjerker for sure, it reminds you why it's more than a game. Credit to the filmmakers for putting all this together, I don't think I would've thought much about Mr. Torberg or about his widow Suzie at all otherwise. But I'm glad to have the knowledge, it's a great story regardless if you like the White Sox or even baseball. Edited September 7, 2025Sep 7 by nrockway
September 7, 2025Sep 7 Who was the Chicago sportswriter that claimed that Jeff Torborg was battling "personal demons" towards the end of his White Sox managerial career? Mrs Torborg said he was constantly writing untrue statements about her husband.
