2026 Gold Glove Finalists

Featured Replies

Chase Meidroth is a Gold Glove finalist for 2B along with Michael Massey and Cole Young.

Here are their fielding numbers at 2B:
Meidroth: +10 FRV, 0 DRS, 1275.2 innings
Massey: +8 FRV, +5 DRS, 994.1 innings
Young: -4 FRV, +16 DRS, 1350.1 innings

Massey has the most consistent numbers between the 2 systems but the least amount of innings at 2B. DRS and FRV disagree on Meidroth and Young quite a bit. If you take the middle point of the 2 systems, Meidroth is +5, Massey is +6.5, and Young is +6. I think Young being so polarizing on the 2 systems along with FRV technically being more trustworthy than DRS should eliminate him. I don't think there's a wrong answer between Meidroth or Massey.

Meidroth is currently the favorite to win the award on Kalshi at 47%. 2nd place is McKinstry at 37%, but he is not a finalist. So I expect the odds to change there soon.

Tristan Peters is not a finalist in CF despite being one of the best CFers in baseball. It's Rafaela's award to lose, but I feel like Peters deserved a finalist spot over Steven Kwan given Kwan only played part time in CF.

I always picture that infield pop fly that hit him in the head, hopefully he wins it. I think he's arguably our best overall player.

I think that's still Vargas, but Chase is pretty good at everything whereas Vargas is still a below average defender.

I need to see Vargas do it again next year, he was practically worthless for 4 years and 300 games and then finally had a huge year.

Doesn't mean it was lucky or that it can't be repeated, I just want to see it.
