If this happens then they could move him to second base and Uribe could start at short, giving us great defense up the middle with Olivo throwing to them. Hopefully better defense and the 4 million dollars they save could get us Ponson and we will be fine again.

Anyone else think that Jose is possibly a better shortstop then Aurilla. I'm surprised Rich is going to get 4 mill, although just two years ago (or was it 3) he had an amazing year.

Jose at third is farther for him to throw the ball and I don't think Olerud is tall enough to snag his god awful throws.

Hell no. Guillen isn't better then Valentin offensively and Valentin has more range then him defensively. That would be a very s***ty-ass move.

No I don't think Valentin's betta than Aurilla although it would actually be closer than most ppl think. I only think Aurilla's betta because he'd hav a betta K ratio than Jose would.

Jose IS better than Aurillia if and only if he sticks to the lessons Santana taught him defensively last year and starts hitting LH exclusively (I reckon 650 OPS against LHP is wholalot better than 350 OPS from RH).

 

Oh and if he hits with RISP like he did in 2000-2002 and not 2003.
