January 8, 200422 yr they did the same thing in 98 They traded away Derrek Lee(a player they don't really need with Conine still there) to save a little money, and they could not offer enough money to keep IRod(and they may end up getting him back come May 1st if he does not sign with a team in the meantime). Otherwise, they have made very few moves to dismantle their team from last year. What a huge firesale.

January 8, 200422 yr what's sad is the marlins..being in the league only 10 years or so could win a world series , completely dismantle the team then rebuild and win another one in that time frame...meanwhile our beloved sox have been trying to build a winner for 87 years now.. guess we are traveling the "slow but not so sure" path
