ESPN, I forgot which show, was discussing the career records of Ted Williams and Bob Feller and how Ted probably would have set the all-time home run record if he didn't take time out for military service.

 

I got to thinking, wouldn't it be weird if Maggs, Carlos Lee, etc. announced they were heading to Iraq to fight the war? Anyone here around during that time?

Or even more recently weren't a bunch of athletes sent off to Vietnam as well? Muhammed Ali IIRC?
