Pekin Ill

Featured Replies

im planning to visit there in a a couple of months to visit a friend, i would like to know your thoughts on it, has well has how far it is from USCF. along with anything worth seeing/doing there.

Pekin is a town just outside of Peoria...It's pretty much your typical central Illinois hick town, and it's three hours away from Chicago. There is absolutely NOTHING around that area (or in central Illinois, for the record). You KNOW you're in nothingness when the lead story of the newscasts is about a farmer who's tractor broke down! All Illinois has to offer is in Chicagoland.

This is the wisest thing I've ever seen you post!

:D

Pekin HS, IHSA Basketball champs in 1964 and 1967. I guess folks there go to Peoria for a "hot time in the old town."

thanks for the info, 3 hours aint a bad drive up to see a baseball game. the only thing ive heard about it is the corn fields.

That's not necessarily true. There's a riverboat casino in East Peoria and world famous Big Al's strip club in downtown Peoria. Other than that, there ain't much.
