Sox Cut Another Six

The Sox made six more cuts today during Spring Training, slimming their roster to 38. Pitcher Gary Majewski was optioned to Charlotte, while pitcher Josh Stewart, catchers Jonathan Aceves, Carlos Maldonado, infielder Mike Bell, and outfielder Mario Valenzuela were reassigned to the Sox minor league camp.

The only one of these moves drawing real interest is the reassignment of Stewart. Stewart, the fifth starter at the beginning of 2002 has been hit by a string of injuries over the past year and never really caught on this spring. Valenzuela was looking to try and grab the last bench spot but with so many Sox prospects in front of him and the crowded outfield in Chicago, his chances were slim.

Lol Alex...I'll add something to that tomorrow. I wrote one up, but got swamped at work and never put one up. When I get to the office I'll put up an analysis on the cuts from a minor league perspective :)

But as always good stuff :headbang
