March 18, 200422 yr Willie Harris - Outfielder - White Sox Mar. 18 - 12:06 am et White Sox manager Ozzie Guillen is leaning toward using Juan Uribe as the platoonmate for Willie Harris, not Jose Valentin. Uribe is definitely going to start against left-handers. Whether he does so at second or shortstop is something that could change during the season. Harris is hitting just .190 this spring, so he's not helping himself. Source: Daily Southtown
March 19, 200422 yr Call this a wild-ass, crazy-as-hell prediction(please do), but I predict Juan Uribe plays a huge part in our success this year coming off the bench, and he will be a guy that has numerous clutch hits. In fact, I predict he gets the hit that sends us to the postseason.
March 19, 200422 yr I still think the man who's going to have to help us the most is Koch. But Uribe is definitely worth watching. In fact, he might take over the 2nd base duties before this season ends if Harris stinks it up during the season.
March 19, 200422 yr Uribe Gets Opening Nod Aaron Rowand had treatment Thursday on both wrists, sore from "reckless abandon" on the basepaths, according to trainer Herm Schneider. Rowand will start Friday. CRASH ROWAND!
March 19, 200422 yr Uribe Gets Opening Nod CRASH ROWAND! Ozzie said in the article "it won't be everyday" regarding Uribe's playing time. However, I think it will be come July.

March 19, 200422 yr I do agree. I think he is a better option than Willie. Willie is being given every chance to make it as the regular 2Bman, but I don't know what his problem is. He can field and shows the range, which might be better than Robbie Alomar's(at least at this point in Alomar's career ) and he has the speed to be a real threat on the bases. However, that piece of wood he holds in his hand when at the plate doesn't seem to be a baseball bat. Maybe that's his problem?
March 19, 200422 yr I just noticed Rotoworld still has him listed as an OF. Rotoworld. He can be play CF, and quite frankly, if I had to choose, that's where I'd rather have him be. His speed shows up in his defense much more vividly out there then it does at 2B. On a bad day, Harris's range in CF is as good as Rowand's is on a good day. However, Harris's arm is not very strong, which is his major knack when playing CF. I personally have little doubt in my mind that if Rowand has a good season and Lee does not put up great numbers(which is expected of him), he could very well be part of a deal that gets us a good starter at the deadline, and Harris could then move to CF with Rowand moving to LF.
