Forgive my little rant, but..............

Here it is, a few days removed from the NFL officially calling it a season (and if you want to call that s*** they had on Sunday night a game, that's up to you) but now I gotta wait 53 f***ing days until they say PLAY BALL in KC! I hate this time of the year. NBA sucks, NHL not that much better, Golf, not a real sport, Tennis, see golf, Arena Football, can't quite get into it yet, & college basketball, not exciting until next month! This is when I need baseball, and soon!!!

Considering all the trades and deals the Sox made, I have such a high feeling of optimism. Something tells me this year, the World Series is coming to this city, & I don't mean that s***hole Wrigley! I mean, it could happen, right? Tell me I'm not getting my hopes up!

Your getting your hopes up :P White Sox's in the World Series, i'll believe it when i see it.

Your hopes are totally dignified. I need baseball so bad that I tune into ESPN Classic every monady to watch one of Nolan Ryan's perfect games (happens alot) or The Card vs. Royals in the World Series.

I also bought the 2002 World Series DVD and watch it weekly. All I want for this Christmas is the 2003 World Series DVD starring our Chicago White Sox. Hell yeah!

Your not getting your hopes up. Then again, it may just be us Chisoxfan's that are nuts.

Either way, I'm with ya. I got a great feeling this will be the year. Now lets get Rogers, acquire Rollins without giving up Rauch and I'll call it an offseason.

I wish WGN/FSN would carry more Sox games during spring training. They only do like 2 or 3. Yet those sad sack Cubs get like 7 or 8 games. Why are they so biased to the Pale Hose? :nono

I've always wondered that. On whitesox.com's schedule, they don't have any broadcasts listed for Spring Training.

Well, I'll inform people of what I see when I'm at spring training. I'll mainly be watching BP. Then I try to sneak behind home plate and talk to the scouts or at least get in a spot where I can read the guns.

The past two years I've talked to Ken Williams. This time I'm going to really talk to him and try to get him to give me some type of job *cough* Asst GM *cough*

What types of communications did you have with him. A "How ya doin'" Or something rather in depth?

Yeah, but 2 of those Cubs games are vs. the Sox's (i may be wrong)

Last year WGN only showed one game, Which the Sox rocked Al Levine and the A's. Al Levine was subsequently released by the A's and picked up by the Angels. I wonder if that game had anything to do with it?

The first time, I congratulated him on getting Boomer Wells and simply said hi.

The second time I talked to him and said I didn't like the Ritchie deal, but I was willing to give him a shot. Rauch was pitching that game and I mentioned to him that I really liked him as well as Osuna and he thought I was pretty sharp. He said I was a smart kid. Stupid me never gave him my name, but he said I aught to look for an internship (Of course I told him I live in California)

I think he was just shooting the bull with me though, cause it was like a 30 second conversation. I then asked him how him and Osuna were doing as far as rehab was concerned.

That's pretty cool. You should pursue that internship thing this spring. Even though you do live in California, you would move to Chicago for such a thing, right?

Not if it was during school. If it was for the summer, I would probably do it, depending on what I did.

He seemed like a nice guy. He was just sitting behind home plate by himself during batting practice and I was talking to my dad when I noticed him. He kept telling me to go over there and I figured he wouldn't talk to me.

I went over there and talked to him quickly, that was about it. This time I'm going to give him a good talk. Hopefully Mario and Mark will be there and we can land an exclusive interview

Typically at spring training, I watch a lot of bp, then mosy over to the bullpens to watch the pitchers throw, then watch the games. I've kidn of given up on the whole autograph thing, mainly because I've gotten most of the players autographs in previous years.

Either way its a real blast and I think any baseball fan should make it to there teams camp at least once in there life time.

For me, also the real question is this: Should the Sox bring the championship home (which I'm desperately hoping for!), what piss poor excuse will Cubs fans make? Because we all know they're full of them! :headbang

The weeds drowned out any sunlight from the skies, so the Cubs sucked so bad this year!

this is just my opinion not really advice..

if you get a chance to intern for a ML team and you passed it up..you'd be an idiot...stay in school and take the safe path and you'll end up like the rest of us..you'll get a decent job making a nice living but it wont be what your real passion is...take the chance..you only live once..you can always go back to school..just make sure you do it before you get married

I can see the title for the DVD now..... The Series in "The Cell"

I read CBS Sportsline.com earlier and they said the Sox are a team on the rise, while the Indians are on the decline! Come on, let's get started. I need to see my team on their eventual march to the World Series. I don't know how much more suspense I can take!!!
