Wolves SWEEP Grand Rapids

Featured Replies

I went to the Wolves AHL Calder Cup Opening Round playoff game last night, and the Wolves SWEPT the Grand Rapids Griffins, winning Game 4 by a final score of 8 to 2.

They scored less than 2 minutes into the game and never looked back, leading 4-0 after one period and 7-0 after two.

The smallish crowd ( my guess is 6,500 or so fans ) was REALLY into this game, and were extremely loud and boisterous throughout.

The Wolves now await the winner of the Milwaukee/Cincinnati series for the Western Division Finals.

My only complaint of the whole night was the fact that the Wolves gave away those goddamned Thundersticks, which are very annoying. ( Side Note - the sound of those thundersticks is EXACTLY the same as the drum sound on Metallica's "St. Anger" CD ). Not many worse sounds than thousands of those stupid sticks clanging together.....ugh...

Good to see at least one Chicago Hockey team can win in April.

Good to see at least one Chicago hockey team actually gives half s***.

We were supposed to go, but things fell through so we watched in on TV instead. I think that might be the last time Brian cheers for that team (Griffs - due to when they were the Sens AHL team). You have to admite the Griffs and the Sens have one thing in common - they both choke in the playoffs to the same team.
