May 3, 200421 yr Anyone else watching Sunday Night Baseball right now? Those Rangers are on the verge of sweeping the RED Sox out of Texas. Dickey has thrown 8 shutout innings and the fans are chanting "SWEEP".
May 3, 200421 yr Ha yeah I'm watching this. I guess this guy is even missing some joint in his elbow?
May 3, 200421 yr Yeah. It has been a great game from what I have seen of it. Soriano cranked one out last inning, his 100th career homer.
May 3, 200421 yr give me an f'n break Francona, letting Crespo hit!? texas with the best record in the AL?? whouldve thunk it
May 3, 200421 yr Dickey was great in college... I'm glad he is finally showing something in the majors.
May 3, 200421 yr It's A-Rod, he's a cancer. Well then.. you should be happy the Sawks didn't get him then huh?
May 3, 200421 yr And.. nothing against the you or the Sawks.. but I am glad Maggs is here and Nomar is in Boston on the DL instead of here on the DL.
May 3, 200421 yr RA Dickey :puke what an embarrassing game thus far Hehe... I was there. Not one of the morons chanting sweep in the EIGHTH inning, though, I've seen the WHITE Sox come back a few too many times this year. And the ninth got interesting when the ump decided to start squeezing the zone just a bit. He must be from Baastan. Seriously, The Rangers with the best record in the AL!!! AND the Sox! Life is good.
May 3, 200421 yr I saw Benoit shut out Seattle last Saturday night and now this Dickey kid today totally dominating Bahston. I thought these were the Texas No-pitching Rangers. WTF?
May 3, 200421 yr Hey Kap, what is the difference in the Texas pitching this year? New pitching coach or something? We all knew they could hit, I had no clue that they could pitch like this.
May 3, 200421 yr Hey Kap, what is the difference in the Texas pitching this year? New pitching coach or something? We all knew they could hit, I had no clue that they could pitch like this. Orel Hershiser was brought in last year, but they got rocked last year. I think a year makes a big difference because these guys know what to expect from Hershiser - who I always thought of as a pretty cerebral pitcher. One thing that occured to me as I was watching was just the pace at which they pitch. R.A., even when he got in trouble, was working pretty quickly yesterday. I really think that makes a difference - it keeps your fielders in the game and everyone involved. Last year, when they would get in trouble they would slow way down and get all nervous, and before you know it, BLAM, big inning. I think there was an element to A-Rod being a "cancer" as well. The dude just brought the attention. These guys are playing well as a TEAM, aggressive, playing fundamental baseball. I think that A-Rod was always supposed to be the hero, and when he wasn't, everyone knew it. The guys this year just appear to be themselves, pitchers included... pressure's off, so to speak, to have to perform for PayRod.
