May 10, 200421 yr to solve the uribe or valintine at ss question or at least to have them both in the line up at the same time... how is urbibe at 3rd? didnt jose play some 3rd for us too? i would love to see jose, uribe, and willie, all play at the same time if possible without defensive melt down.

Or maybe we could just let Joe Crede be our third baseman and bench Jose...
May 10, 200421 yr jose can play third...i guess it is a possibility if crede gets into a slump but the glove by crede is too good to take away and replace with manos
May 10, 200421 yr but the glove by crede is too good to take away Too bad reality says otherwise. Crede is no better a 3B than Jose - a SS. Join us in the 21st century where we actually know how to measure Total Defense pretty accurately or stay stuck in the Fielding % swamp of ignorance. Crede is extremely overrated a fielder. Eric Hinske, not exactly all that good a 3B himself, made Crede look really bad by comparison this weekend.
May 10, 200421 yr Crede is extremely overrated a fielder. I've heard it all now...Just like Rooney is a bad announcer, Crede is an overrated fielder... :headshake
May 10, 200421 yr I've heard it all now...Just like Rooney is a bad announcer, Crede is an overrated fielder... :headshake thank you aboz WATCH THE GAME!!! crede is not an overrated 3 bagger and makes excellent defensive plays. Also, crede is still learning and still a better fielder EASILY than jose!!!
May 10, 200421 yr I've heard it all now...... What about the one where you're a hype-buying bonehead, did you hear about that one?
May 10, 200421 yr What about the one where you're a hype-buying bonehead, did you hear about that one? Benching Valentin would be stupid. And Crede IS overrated defensively. Over a good stretch of games(50 or so), he has never shown above average defense. His range factors have been below average defensively for quite some time. If you want to see GG defense, watch Corey Koskie or Eric Chavez play the hot corner. They'll give you GG defense. How about to settle everything, we do something with Rowand(bench him, send him to AAA, trade him), put Willie in CF, Uribe at 2B, Valentin at SS, Crede at 3B. Is that OK with everyone or is someone going to b**** about that too?
May 10, 200421 yr Who said Crede was a gold-glover? Nobody. He's not bad defensively and I'd take him over a majority of the 3B's in the league right now in the field. He's still young too, he has time to fix what needs fixing.

His range factors have been below average defensively for quite some time. If you want to see GG defense, watch Corey Koskie or Eric Chavez play the hot corner. They'll give you GG defense. Chavez is too reckless to be a great fielder, but I remember him throwing leather around on Thomas and Konerko last year...Mercy! Joe is an average fielder just as Uribe is an average fielder. Both could be good some day, but until that happens are just another in a long line of unrealized potential. Errors are but a part of fielding. Joe has demontrated that in Baltmore and in Toronto where he was errorless, but failed to come up with at least 3 plays that led to runs. He led to a s***load of runs in 2003, but got nary a mention as he's the Golden Boy. I am still waiting for him to break out.

Is that OK with everyone or is someone going to b**** about that too? I agree sumthin needs to be done with A-Row. I think most ppl expected him to take that next step early on in this season and it just hasn't happened. Giv him sum time for a few weeks down at Charlotte to clear his head and work on pitches that are low and away. Call up Reed and hav him rotate with Harris in CF, with Uribe, Valentin and Crede as ur infielders.

And WOW brando, chavez is too reckless? he's one of the best 3 baggers in the game. Crede has already shown some really solid plays and is still maturing and has potential for a greaet career at third.
May 10, 200421 yr And i will b**** at u witesox. If willie moved to center, I would want Reed to replace him everday. . :headshake If Willie starts to slip offensively, you bench him and use him around the IF and then callup Reed. You see if Willie can maintain this success.
May 10, 200421 yr Over a good stretch of games(50 or so), he has never shown above average defense. His range factors have been below average defensively for quite some time. Um I personally remember seeing plenty of dives and bullets to pauly
May 10, 200421 yr :headshake If Willie starts to slip offensively, you bench him and use him around the IF and then callup Reed. You see if Willie can maintain this success. Yea I meant to mention that in my post. But I would like willie and reed together with willie staying at second
May 10, 200421 yr Um I personally remember seeing plenty of dives and bullets to pauly No you don't, unless you were seeing a highlight reel of him for a full year. He's mediocre in the field. Get over it.

May 10, 200421 yr Hold on, highlights of a full year? so youre saying he does make those dives and bullets to pauly? which was my point...right? thanks for agreeing!! he's not mediocre. He is solid, young, third baseman making great plays every week.
May 10, 200421 yr he's not mediocre Fine. He is average-to-slightly-above-average. Hence the "overrated" part. Happy? Wite....these homers are fun, aren't they? Soxtalk rules!
May 10, 200421 yr going back to the overrated...how is he overrated? none of us "homers" are saying that he is best, we're just saying he deserves a lot more credit than you are giving him which is true if you watch the plays he makes
May 10, 200421 yr Joe Crede is a good fielder and a good hitter. He got off to a horrible start but he's quietly been hitting pretty well the last couple weeks. Listening to the Yankee announcers a few weeks ago and to the ESPN guys just this past week, they all liked Crede and all said he'd be an all-star soon. But, Brando must know more than them so i'm done...
