May 12, 200421 yr I know a lefty CF we could use.......Ken Griffey Jr. And how much of his $66.5 mill left on his contract are you going to pay for? I'd rather have Jose Cruz Jr in CF then Griffey. Cruz is not nearly as injury prone, is a much better base-stealer, plays some damn good defense in CF, and (the best part), he is cheap. He won't wow you with his numbers, but they're solid. If we need a LH bat, I say we go the whole 9 yards. Go get Delgado/Helton/someone else(Thome for example). The team who gives us that player (Blue Jays/Rockies/someone else(Phillies in this case) respectively) receives Carlos Lee, Paul Konerko, Billy Koch, and some damn good prospects in return. However, give me an ace, and then worry about other things. You can get by with 3 runs a game if you only give up 2...am I right?
