I have seen a couple of stray comments about the fences at the Cell having been shortened. Is this true? Did they do it again? I know they did it a year ago.

Didn't hear about the padding, but green walls, yes. And it wouldn't surprise me, since it would fit in with the batter's eye better.

Jesus Christ..... black underside to the upper deck roof, black light poles and scoreboard accents, gray facade inside the park, and green fences????? Excuse me while I :puke . The 68 million from US Cellular for Comiskey renovations can't come soon enough.

Hopefully it will look like that pic of the stadium that that one website put out....that looked sweet....and upper deck in RF, and having the short porch in right....with the short porch, Joey B could have the all-time rookie record for homers if he comes up and is ready in 2004....that'll be quite attractive to many lefty sluggers

It matters to me. I want a ballpark that no one..... from the casual fan, to the diehard, to the "moronic" sportswriter..... can use as an excuse to not go to games. I know an awful lot of casual Sox fans who have bought into the "media wrecking ball" of US Cellular Field (finally remembered to call it by it's new name). And trust me, come Opening Day, you will not read anything from the Chicago media about the team but you will read an awful lot into USCF looking like a prison cell after this years paint job. Don't get me wrong..... I'd go see the White Sox play at the Unfriendly Confined..... and I have. But I get tired of asking friends to go to a Sox game (Guido and RPS being the exceptions) only to have the media descriptions of Comiskey thrown at me..... sometimes from people that have NEVER BEEN TO USCF. If the finished product eventually looks like what was on the HKS website, then fine...... go with black, blue, gray, and green this year. But if the finished product looks nothing like the planned renovations..... get ready to defend USCF even further because from what I see..... right now..... the media is gonna tear USCF a new ass just because of the "dark" feeling you get looking at the renovations as they are for 2003. As a result, the casual fan will be alienated even further.

i quite honestly dont care what the park looks like as long as they put a WINNING TEAM ON THE FIELD..............id sit in a sand lot and watch the game with fleas flying around as long as they won..........i dont go to the park to say oh look what nice blue seats they have, or wow look at how pretty the black underhang is.......who cares.........i go to watch games and socialize with my friends.....(which i have more than just guido and rps there killa, maybe you need to get out more or hang with me lol.....)............anyhow i dont care what they do to the park its what they do on the field that matters most to me..............

As CubKilla said, it matters to me - pride in everything we do means not playing in a schlock environment. As it is I worry about the black being painted on the upper deck underside reflecting heat in the summer - it gets hot enough up there as it is and if in the place of shade we have heat reflecting back on us, it will not be an improvement - but I will wait until it actually happens or doesn't happen before I start making a judgment on it -

You would care if the walls were piss yellow. Trust me.....even if we did go 173-0.....you would somehow sneak a shot at the piss yellow walls of USCF eventually.

 

And I think we're good....and we gotta hope we get hot in time for the playoffs.

For those that remeber the very first set of rennovation pics that were OL, the one that were handrawn, the HR Pourch, the chopped off upperdeck, the green batters eye.. if you look... green wall. I should know, I use it was my desktop wallpaper.
