NUKE_CLEVELAND
First of all there was a pretty nice crowd there, almost 33K & Loaiza pitched a pretty damn good game. That's about the extent of the good stuff. The Offense totally f***ing stinks! Here's Maggs & Shammy er I mean Skirt er I mean Thomas swinging for the fences in the 9th inning with nobody on & down 3 runs. Hey jackasses! In that situation a homerun does you no freeking good. You need baserunners dammit so stop trying to hit every freekin pitch out to the projects across the interstate and drop in an opposite field single once in a while ok! In fact, nobody looked like they were terribly interested in getting a regular base hit. Most all of the lineup was swinging for the fences. That's been a big rap on this club the last few years & it's not getting any better.

CSF
Nuke, why do you find it necessary to ridicule the one guy who actually contributed to the Sox offense tonight? Yes, he swung for the fences in the 9th and missed badly, but he's also the only guy (besides Harris) who was actually taking pitches and not swinging at the 1st pitch in every at-bat. greg775
It's amazing the boys played so badly with such a big crowd. Do the Twinks deserve credit more than us deserving the blam?

No. We buried ourselves by swinging for the fences every time up.
CubKilla
Do the Twinks deserve credit more than us deserving the blam? Take nothing away from the Twins. As it was in '02 and '03, they're the better ballclub right now. Gardenhire has out-Ozzie balled Oz these first 2 games.

Gardenhire has out-Ozzie balled Oz these first 2 games. Trouble is that we're not playing ozzie ball right now. We're right back to the old Jerry Manuel, swing for the fences (especially on the 1st pitch) & score a couple of runs if we're lucky. Someone needs to take these guys in a room and make them watch the playoff games against the Mariners in 2000 so they learn the value of small-ball. Or throw over a few buffet tables and call the entire team a bunch of "b****es."
