May 16, 200421 yr Myabe it's just me but if your starters only give up 2-3 runs in 7-8 innings that should be good enough for a win dont you think? We gotta start hitting the ball for base hits and stop trying to knock out windows at Robert Taylor Homes every time up to bat. When you're hitting to all fields then the HR's will come naturally.
May 16, 200421 yr You are correct, sir. Our pitching hasn't been too bad. We need walks, hits n runs.
May 16, 200421 yr most likely when we start hitting are pitching will not being doing as well and we will be in the same boat which will really suck
May 16, 200421 yr We need walks, hits n runs. Then Ozzie needs to sit Valentin, Konerko, and Crede tomorrow but that is practically impossible. People rip on Konerko and Valentin, and most of the time, it's justified. But Crede absolutely, unequivocally, without a shadow of a doubt..... SUCKS offensively and his sporadic if any contribution to the offense needs to be addressed along with PK's and JV's. This team's first-half garbage makes their second-half runs (the past few seasons) all the more difficult. The next time Crede swings at the first pitch and pops up, I better see his no hitting ass drop at home and give me 20 push-ups.
May 16, 200421 yr What we have seen lately, except for one 15-0 rout is too much like the fiasco of last year. Why is it that we let one player each game beat us and our hitters continue to play like limp noodles? If we have no offense I think we need to expect our pitchers to step up also. We don't score more than one run so why should we not expect these pitchers to hold the opposition down too? One again it's that one guy of the otehr team. Tonight it was Hunter. Last night Jones. Against the O's it was Roberts.
May 16, 200421 yr I love Crede cause he's won 3 games for us this year late, but I get frustrated with his anemic batting average. Say it ain't so ... Joe. Start hitting and become Robin V. Jr. before we all go crazy. Thank you very much.
May 16, 200421 yr Author If we have no offense I think we need to expect our pitchers to step up also. We don't score more than one run so why should we not expect these pitchers to hold the opposition down too? I hope you're kidding. Tonight, Loiaza threw a pretty damn good game giving up 3 in 8 innings work. That's a quality start for sure & he deserved the win IMO. You cant expect the starters to go out there night after night & shut out the opposition. All they should be expected to do is keep a lid on the other team and then let the O do the rest. The O is not doing its part at all & thats, I know I'm being redundant, because they all got Shammy-itis, swinging for the fences constantly & forsaking the base hit or the walk.
