Well usually minor league relievers are not projected to the majors as you probably know so that doesn't bode well for him. I don't know much about his stuff other than the pitches that he throws (you should read the FutureSox interview with him if you haven't already). The concensus on here in many discussions has been that Baj needs some time in AAA before even being considered for a callup.

I'm not sure where that concensus is drawn from.........

I am about the only one on here that has seen him pitch regularly in the last two years and I don't think he needs AAA time at all.

Could he step in as a MLB closer? maybe, but I wouldn't put him in that position...... Do I think he is ready to step in as a middle reliever to set up guy. Sure. He is as confident as they come right now and his results are showing it. His command is good and his stuff is Major League quality.

Am I saying he could step in and be an all-star? no But I do think he could help a team out of the bullpen now. Without a question.

Can he out-pitch Adkins/Jackson by enough margin as to justify the inherent risk of ruining his confidence?

Ok well you are the lone exception then.

I'm just saying that I don't recall reading anyone say they thought he needed AAA time, nor what that may be based on.

Brando, I can't answer that because I have only seen the White Sox a handful of times this year and can honestly say I don't know how Adkins or Jackson are doing. I guess my thought would be if someone went down with an injury, I think he could fill in and handle himself respectabily. I don't think there should be any rush to get him to Chicago, but if an opportunity arises, I would make the call if I were the Sox.

Does that help?
