They intentionally walk Sean Casey to get to Griffey & he promptly nails one into the seats & then shoots a mean look at the Marlins dugout.

 

You have to question Jack McKeon's logic on this one. I know Beckett has had some luck against Griffey in the past but you cant just diss a player who is on a mission like he is.

 

Reds are now winners of 7 in a row & own a game and a half lead over the Flubbs who got owned by Oswalt & the Astros tonight.

Geesh. And Griff has been swinging the hot bat lately too. Not smart at all.

I'm really glad to see Griffey's well again and swinging the hot bat.

I think people take Cincinatti too lightly. They have a solid rotation, a good bullpen, and a pretty good offense. They are a team that is maybe a very good pitcher away from making some noise. If they can get Freddy Garcia, Jason Schmidt, Livan Hernandez, hell, even Randy Johnson, they could be very good.

 

They could very easily finish above the Cards and maybe even above the Astros/Cubs for second place....if they get that pitcher, they could finish first. They are doing what they need to right now. If they can get a 5-8 game lead going into the ASB(which I personally find very unlikely), they are looking good.

The Reds are playing good baseball. They deserve to be in first place right now and should stick to 1st if they keep playing the way they are.
