May 29, 200421 yr We need a double from Lee... Or I can always do my imitation of the Sox radio announcers: "How about a long one..." Those fruits are ALWAYS talking about home runs. -y2 It's almost like a virus. The idea of the home run has spread throughout the Sox organization to the extent that everyone thinks about home runs rather than just getting on base and doing the little things to score runs. It's irritating. I love watching players hit home runs, but I rarely see anyone hit a home run when he's trying to. Home runs are the product of making solid contact and seeing the ball well, not swinging as hard as one possibly can.
May 29, 200421 yr Why is Valentin trying to bunt in this situation? To play Ozzie ball. If we 'chip' away at their lead...their lead turns into a tie. If we hack away at the ball...we strike out. Another K for Jose...just like so. CHIP AWAY...all we need is 1 run per inning and we can win. -y2
May 29, 200421 yr I should have known. Jose Valentin out on a K. Told to me the Force did on a K Valentin is out. Isn't that more Yoda like?

Thomas runs well, but not as well as he used to.
May 29, 200421 yr Sox radio announcers : Come on Paulie...how about a long one. -y2 Who is actually saying that? Is it Rooney or Farmer?
May 29, 200421 yr Who is actually saying that? Is it Rooney or Farmer? I don't know the difference between the two. I hear people talk about how great the radio announcers are over Hawk and DJ but I disagree...the Sox radio announcers annoy me. :headshake
