If that happens, you'd have to say this off-season was very successful, and Kenny would deserve praise.  But will he get it?

If we are successful, he will most definitely get it from me. And even though I am a KW basher, I recognize when he makes good moves. All of the moves this offseason that you mentioned were good moves IMO. KW hasn't given me much to rip on this offseason like offseasons past and, as a KW basher, I'm pissed . I think most KW bashers here know that this team in ST now is the better than the team we had in 2002.

We all seem to forget that David Wells won 20 games the year before we got him. And, we didn't give up much to get him: Sirotka, who hasn't pitched in the bigs since, Kevin Beirne, did nothing for Toronto and is now doing nothing for the Dodgers, all this after doing nothing for us, and Brian Simmons, who returned and did nothing so he was released. At the time of this deal I was very excited, not as excited as I am now about the Colon deal, however.

Me and you were in the minority at the time. I couldn't figure out why Sox fans were so receptive to this trade. And trust me, I took no joy what so ever when Ritchie tanked like I thought he would. Being able to say "I told you so" is much more satisfying when talking to a sCrUB fan.

I really liked it when the writer said, "and every reason to believe that Minnesotas reign in the Central will be a very short one. I like the bluntness, rub it in style of that statement. It doesnt say the Twins are going to be challenged, it says theyre going to be screwed. I like that...

And I agree with clujer that you cant blame KW in case of Bartolos failure. He was the prized gem of the offseason. KW cant be blamed. He will be blamed tho if that happens, and that aint right.

 

But ya know, what are the chances that BC pulls a Todd Ritchie? Minimal. So we shouldnt really worry about this scenario...

i colon pulls a todd im pushing kw and colon off the sears tower.... there is no way we should have to be subjected to a crappy pitcher aquired by kw two seasons in a row.......lol.... and im going to have jr at the bottom trying to catch them both.. may as well take care of all of the problems at once huh...........

Jas....I'm sure we could get better without trading....if we need another starter, we got Heredia, Loaiza, Stewart and Malone in the minors....not that great, but you wouldn't get great pitchers at the deadline either(or normally you don't). We have bats for off the bench....Borchard is a stud, and we got lesser ones like Holt and Miles....etc. The only thing we would need is some catching help...and I don't think we will need that even. We atleast won't need to trade for it anyways.
