June 5, 200421 yr Hey Goldmember what is the tool called that you use to fade out players in the background of cubssuck1 basketball sig? Also, how do you make them look faraway like in the background too? I am trying to make my own sig but I just can't get it to look good, I got the players cut out and everything I just need to put it together...
June 5, 200421 yr Author Hey Goldmember what is the tool called that you use to fade out players in the background of cubssuck1 basketball sig? Also, how do you make them look faraway like in the background too? I am trying to make my own sig but I just can't get it to look good, I got the players cut out and everything I just need to put it together... this may sound complicated but it's not... to make them blue i made a new lawyer below that player and made a selection around them (ctrl + click on the player layer). while there is still a selection around the player fill the new layer with whatever color you like (i of course used blue) inside the selection. hit ctrl+d to deselect change the blending mode of the player to luminosity (drop down menu in the layers palette) and merged the two layers. to fade the players i made a layer mask (little button on bottom of layers palette) and used the gradient tool set to black-transparent and kept using the gradient tool until i had the desired effect. (use the gradient tool starting from the outside of the image your fading moving in) edit: oh yeah and in front of the players in the foregound is just a simple gradient with a blue that matched the background fading into transparency...

June 5, 200421 yr Author hopefully this will be much easier for you but you won't have as much control over the blending of the images as in the way i described earlier... http://invano.com/?photoshop:MaskingImage
