June 6, 200421 yr I can't believe this hasn't been poster, link. When a local report tabbed the White Sox as Garcia's most likely new home, Sox GM Kenny Williams didn't exactly know how to respond. "Great for us,'' Williams said. "I'm really happy to hear that.'' On a more serious note, Williams didn't deny the speculation. But he did quash rumors that Class AAA outfielder Joe Borchard would be a part of the proposed trade for Garcia. "Borchard's not going anywhere,'' Williams said.
June 6, 200421 yr It has been posted a couple of times in some of the Garcia and trade talk threads......
June 6, 200421 yr The only place Borchard should be going is to Chicago, as he passes Jamie Burke on his way back to Charlotte.
June 6, 200421 yr Author whats this mean exactly.. has Borchard passed Reed in terms of talent in the eyes of Kenny Williams? because Seattle is going to get a top prospect from some team, and if its not Borchard, its either Reed or Freddy ain't coming.

No they're not. Garcia's in the last year of his contract, and, quite frankly, he has been less the good his past two years. Rowand and Rauch may be the best offer Seattle gets.
June 7, 200421 yr I'm a little surprised we didn't bring Joe B up to replace Maggs. Isn't Joe 24 or 25? Geez, that's old enough. Bring him up.
June 7, 200421 yr I was afraid they'd ship Joey B off in a deal. I'm glad to see KW has that attitude. I also read somewhere that KW has deemed Reed as an untouchable. That may be just to build him up for trade value, though.
