Gene Honda Civic
Interesting little quote I found The A's had scored the fourth fewest runs in the AL before their only true threat, Eric Chavez, was lost for at least three weeks with a broken hand. And as one AL assistant GM said, "They were offensively challenged with Chavez. It is tough in the AL when you have a lineup that has three or four automatic outs." A few executives wondered if Oakland GM Billy Beane would part with one of his three elite starters (Tim Hudson, Mark Mulder or, most likely, Barry Zito) or possibly one of his young studs Rich Harden or Joe Blanton to get a bat. http://www.nypost.com/sports/22474.htm -- Scroll down. redandwhite
Definitly. Over in Red Sox Nation all the talks about how Zito has already been classified as the odd man out and will not be an Athletic next season.
CWSGuy406
I'd give up Reed and Honel for Mulder, but I don't think Beane would...
