June 8, 200421 yr Sox take third basemen, Caleb Cooper. He played for Cal State Hayward this year. Caleb Cooper hit .340, and topped the Pioneers with 17 home runs, and 72 RBI's, both school records. Cooper also had a team leading .747 slugging percentage. He is now the all-time CSUH leader with 36 home runs and 142 RBIs. He is third all-time with 109 runs and fourth with 35 doubles.

Mike Dubee Dubee is a long, lanky righty with upside on the mound. He threw in the mid-80s over the summer with the makings of a good curveball. Could project into a very good high-D1 pitcher.

"I love the way it is in the clubhouse, around the dugout and on the field … It will be hard to leave all my (football) teammates, my friends. I've had so many experiences, so many good times at Oklahoma State. But they all understand my situation.'' It took $5.2 million to sign those picks in the 2003 draft but Shaffer indicated the Sox had been given sufficient budget to sign all their picks.
