Wilbur Wood Continued his amazing pitching with a 24-17, a 2.51 ERA and 49 games started, amtching a club record set by Ed Walsh in 1908. Wood and his two other starting mates Stan Bahnsen (21-16) and Tom Bradley (15-14) started 130 of 154 games played for the club. New Relief ace Terry Forster (6-5) set a club record of 29 saves. For having the club in first place as late as Aug 12, Chuck Tanner was named Manager of the Year and personnel Director Roland Hemond as Executive of the Year.
