June 23, 200421 yr He is absolutely gutless when it comes to taking out a pitcher in the first 5-6 innings. I am stilltrying to figure out how you can play to lose with a lead like that.
June 23, 200421 yr What? He's got a bullpen that outside of Marte and Shingo can't get anyone out on most nights. Ozzie has made his share of mistakes, but he's gotta stick with the starters on most of these occasions.
June 23, 200421 yr He is put in an unenviable position - Cotts, Politte, Jackson, Adkins are all terrible, and he wisely refuses to burn Shingo and Marte because it would mean pennant race death. Of course Loaiza losing 2-3 mph off his fatsball doesn't help - hitters are hammering pitches they used to foul off last year.
