Kenny Williams 670 radio interview Recap

Toronto should also be packing it in. 31-41, behind TB, 15 GB of the NYY. Holladay wouldn't be available.

Maybe Ted Lilly and Miguel Batista though.

I think the White Sox either made an offer to Moyer last winter or had one ready, not sure.

I'd prefer others but he wouldn't be a bad pickup, depending on cost.

I'm gonna go out on a limb here and say that Kenny is going to surprise us all again and get one of:  Smoltz, Glavine, or the Big Unit.  He always seems to go away from what popular belief is.  He will get us a big name by the end of next month, that's my one prediction of the month.

If you think there's a chance that RJ comes here.. get to the hospital.. you might have malaria.

If Bruce Levine is to be believed, he said the Sox inquired about Bautista last week and were told he is not available.

I don't know why Toronto would want to give up Ted Lilly. They just acquired him and he's not expensive. Seems to me they'd want to build around him.

The big bat the Dodgers are trying hard to get, it's been said, is Delgado from Toronto.  The LA media has been talking about this for a while ... Delgado and Shawn Green are best buds.

Except PK could be had for the same price for 1 1/2 years as Delgado for a 1/2 year. My guess is a RH batter in front of or behind Green would help more than a LH bat.

Sweeney from KC would make more sense than Carlos as well.

If were going on the 48 hour premise, then he would be available. Just throwing out names of guys on teams who should be selling.

Could be. Who knows, it depends who the Dodgers like or don't like.

They probably could've had Konerko last winter if they wante him ... didn't happen.

I'm not certain the money issue is foremost in the Dodgers personnel decisions. They have a budget like everyone else but they're not shy about spending.

I think Sweeney makes more sense for them from a baseball perspective.

I've read that Baird said he's not planning on moving Sweeney.

interesting.

Gammons is not telling us anything new. I like his qualified statement, "The Sox might be..." I am sure the Sox might be looking at a lot of different people.

Plus why is it that we still have this trade Konerko or Valentin stuff coming up? Mota is not close to being equal talent with Konerko. Plus if we trade an established position player we open up another hole in our line up. I would guess that any trade we make will include prospects.

LA doesn't want to trade Mota anyway. They backed out of the Beltran deal due to that fact alone. Mota isn't going anywhere.

Exactly, I agree.

He's saying the Sox are "going for it" and the chance of trading Maggs is very slim, even though they might lose him for nothing other than draft choices.

It'd seem counter to what he's been saying if Konerko or Valentin gets traded.

I think we're looking at trading prospects.

What would be interesting to know is if a certain teams scouting staff has been following the Sox minor league teams. That'd be a good indicator.

Because we have enough hitting (or so we think), but not enough pitching. You trade from strength.
