This sucks that we have to have this conversation again but unfortunately it looks like it still isn't solved. I'm all for giving Rauch another chance also. I know brando is going to say randy johnson, I still think that's unrealistic but another trade is probably the best way to go. How about Barry Zito, it seems more and more likely that oakland will try trading barry for another bat. I know he's struggling right now but I'm sure he'll get it turned around.

July 8, 200421 yr Zito has a better reputation than he deserves. I'd say just let Diaz keep making starts. He didn't look so good yesterday, but nobody really did, either.
July 8, 200421 yr Carlos Lee isn't exactly peaches and apples. With all the butt kissing Hawk does to him, he is having a bad season. He is batting .290 with 8 hrs and less then 40 rbis. Yeah thats great for a 3, 4, or 5 guy!!!

Yeah thats great for a 3, 4, or 5 guy!!! His numbers are worse then last year but I like what he's doing this year but then last year. The way carlos is hitting I'd much rather have him up in a clutch situation this year then last year.

July 8, 200421 yr i give shoenenwiess 3 more starts..it was his first start since coming off the DL..he made it 5 innings..thats a miracle when you look at what we were getting out of the 5th spot anyways...give him time to get his groove back...if after 3 starts he hasnt pitched well then give rauch 3 starts in a row...and if by that time if things havent worked out its probably to do our perennial "rebuilding for the future that never arrives" thingy...
July 9, 200421 yr If Schoeney doesn't turn it around soon, I sure as hell hope they make a trade for someone decent ..... because I thinks he's scheduled to start July 19th in Texas and I'm going to that game. Sitting there as a visiting teams fan while the Rangers hits ropes off of Schoeney for 5 innings does not sound all that appealing to me. :headshake

July 9, 200421 yr Schoney should get 1-2 more starts and if he falters they should give Rauch another chance. He did an adequate job from the 5 spot in his second chance
