JoshPR
After the success of the previous 4 seasons the Sox fell off and had a miserable season on the field finishing 68-76 3rd in the AL Central 32 games behind the leader Cleveland Indians. With the team 11-20 Gene LaMont was fired and replaced by Terry Bevington who ended up 57-56. Once again Frank Thomas led the team in Hits (152) batting average (.308) Homers (40) RBI’s (111) and walks (136), Robin Ventura continued his consistent play hitting .295 slugging 26 homers and bringing home 93 runs. Center Fielder Lance Johnson (.306) again led the league in triples (12) and right fielder Mike Devereaux hit .306 but was traded to Atlanta before the season ended. Utility man Dave Martinez hit .307. Righthander Alex Fernandez (12-8) was the only winner in double digits and led the team in strikeouts (159) and ERA (3.80) Lefty Wilson Alvarez (8-11) and righthander Jason Bere (8-15) struggled all season and ended up with a 7.19 ERA. Lefthander Jim Abbott (6-4) pitched well but was traded to Anaheim before the deadline. Out of the Bullpen Roberto Hernandez had 32 saves. CSF
The first year of the post-BlackJack era. That was a rough one.

Jordan4life_2007
I'll never forget how pathetically FAT Fernandez and Alvarez got during the strike. 95 was a horrible year
