September 6, 200421 yr I saw on the bottom line a couple of interesting things. First off Buffalo released Jason Gildon, the Steelers were really sad to see him go and it will be interesting to see if they go after him for cheap. Also Fred Russell was released unfortunately, but he will catch on somewhere. I also noticed Shane Burton and Jesse Armstead are gonna be out for the year for Carolina.
September 6, 200421 yr Does Gildon suck that bad? Could the Bears make use of him at all? No, his only value is a pass rusher in a 3/4 defence.
September 6, 200421 yr Author I'm not sure why the Bills released him. Unless he was injured. He can still rush the passer very well as an OLB, he plays OLB in the 3-4 and likes to come up to the line as a OLB/DE type to rush the passer. He's not great in coverage anymore, but he could be a pass rushing specialist for a team if he's healthy.
