News and Notes

Sep 8 There are reports that the Bears are interested in trading for McCardell, according to the Tampa Tribune.

RotoWire Recommends: According to the report, McCardell, who's been a contract holdout for the entire preseason, would fill a spot vacated by Marty Booker, who was traded to Miami for defensive lineman Adewale Ogunleye. Last week, Kansas City and Baltimore were rumored to be interested in McCardell. McCardell's agent refused to either confirm or deny the current rumor involving Chicago. Bucs GM Bruce Allen, however, has been adamant in insisting that so far, no other NFL team has approached him concerning McCardell.

Go buccaneers! btw

I'll take him. But if the bears are going young, and want to see Gage, Wade, and Berrian get more touches, then no.

We shoulda just kept this guy when we had him instead of cutting him from the practice squad. Crap!!! TB doesn't need A-Train...it'll probably be draft picks...

I heard from the Tampa tribune that we'd want a backup offensive lineman and a late draft pick or a package of late draft picks for McCardell.

I heard somewhere else they would want a lineman as well
