sign clement if you're upgrading elsewhere....if clement would be our best signing, we'll be in trouble

If clement was are best sign i would be happy since i consider him better than koskie who says we do not sign clement and koskie then trade either lee or konerko to upgrade else where.

Here is the key my man.

I'm guessing he isn't.  If he was healthy, seeing how he's been so good the past two years, the Cubs would definitely be trotting him out there every 5 days.

He's had some nagging injuries, and just a guess on my part, but I think it's more than that.

When he throws that power slider it puts a lot of torque on his elbow.

But if he's healthy ... he'd be a good addition.

I know he's not healthy now. But as long as he'd be ready to go for '05, the sox should jump. the sox need a GB pitcher. Esp. since Garland hasn't been able to do it consistently.

BTW, can you count out a healthy Scott Schoenweis from the Sox plans? [He did well early, but fell off when the arm started hurting] Though doesn't he have a big option that the Sox would refuse? If he came back cheaper, he could compete for the 5th spot [if Garland is traded and the sox signed a #2 or #3, Clement type]

If Scho was willing to battle with Garland or whoever is the fifth and accept the fact if he lost out that he would pitch out of the bullpen, I'd be more then happy to have him.

He was very good until getting injured. Another thing I think had an effect is that Scho had not had the type of stress in his arm from starting in a while and in the end I think the innings and what not got to him and caused major fatigue and well eventually an injury.

I would just like schoeny to leave he is about a 9th starter or a 12th man in the pen.

Schoney did a good job while he was healthy. His year didn't hit the skids until he kept trying to pitch with a sore arm. I wouldn't mind seeing Scott back with us as a long man, spot starter. He'd supply some depth for the rotation if someone got injured.
