YASNY
I'd rather deal PK for a few reasons. His road ops and splits plain old suck and secondly I think Gload is a more then capable first baseman. I don't like the idea of the potential in house replacements if they deal Lee. Sure, you can say tehy will sign Beltran but until that happens then I would rather deal Konerko. All that said I'd dump Thomas because I am more then happy with Konerko/Lee and neither of them are the health liability that Thomas is. Trading Frank doesn't make sense. For precisely the reasons you mentioned, the return from a Thomas deal would be small compared to what we get for PK or Lee, yet the production we get if we keep him could be huge. With Gload waiting in the wings and PK coming of his best season and taking into consideration his road splits, trading him this offseason is the big move that makes most sense to me. Carlos fits the bill to what the Sox are trying to accomplish. In fact, his approach during his hitting streak shows he can be a high OBP guy if that's what the Sox need, or as he showed after Magglio and Frank went down, he can adjust and be a power guy. That kind of versatility is hard to find.

He's shown over time he can produce from wherever he's hitting in the lineup, that kind of productivity and versatility is hard to find.
