Castro, who turns 20 on Jan. 20, is more of a work in progress. The left-hander dominated at Bristol during his first season in 2003, striking out 59 over 47 innings while posting a 1.79 ERA. He finished the year at Class A Kannapolis, and pitched most of 2004 for the Intimidators.

In 37 games and 51 innings, Castro fanned 44 and allowed just 44 hits while finishing with a 4-0 record and 3.00 ERA. He continued his move up the system with six solid innings for Class A Winston-Salem.

While pitching in the Dominican Republic, Castro carries a 2-0 record with a sparkling 1.20 ERA over 16 games. Castro has 17 strikeouts in 15 innings and has allowed just six hits.

Through July 19th Fabio continues to do well in High A, especially for a 20 year old. He is 3-4 with a 2.75 ERA. 52.1 inn, 39 hits, 52/23 SO/BB

Fabio is 5-5 with a 2.51 ERA. In 71.2 innings he has given up 51 hits, 7 homers, 31 BB and 67 SO. Very good for a 20-year old in high A.

Keep doing updates on him until he is officially a ranger forever well at least until we know he isnt ever coming back.

He gone officially, unless the Rangers want to take him off the 25 man roster.
