November 16, 200421 yr Give a big NO to both Ramon and Russ Ortiz. Personally, I can't see Ramon on the Southside, I think Kenny has targeted other guys. What I fear most is getting Russ f***ing Ortiz. Kenny is showing a ton if interest too...just the thought of him makes me :puke
November 17, 200421 yr Ramon Ortiz is now a free agent. His option was declined by Anaheim and he could be a good fit for the Chisox. I've herad the mets are very interested but if we could sign him to a 2 year- 8million dollar deal, I'd be fine with that and him as our 4th or 3rd starter. What do you think? Pleas clarify why we would offer Ortiz $4M a year? He is released by the Angels and was used a lot as a long reliever. Am I thinking of another pitcher here? I agree that Ortiz might be an interesting pick up, but I am thinking more of being the #5 starter.

November 17, 200421 yr He would be worth 2-3 million as a flexible option (He'll get more), but isn't Ramiro Mendoza out there as well. He could be a solid reliever/5th starter to pick up as a low risk high reward guy (That is if he's healthy). I'm thinking he's a FA, but I could be completely wrong.
