Or JJ.

Also, I am SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO glad Robbie Gordon is gone from RCR. What a little b****. Poetic justice that Jeff Burton now has Robbie's ride.

Kurt did an awesome job coming back from that tire problem. Hes lucky as hell that was his teammate who won the race or else that would have given Johnson enough points to win it I believe.

So out of curiousity, how close would the championship have been if it was run with last years rules? And who would have won it?

jimmy johnson wouldve easily won i believe

Yup - and Kurt would have been 4th.

Under the old system Gordon would have won by 47 points over Jimmie Johnson with Kurt Busch as QP said finishing 4th.

Here it is...

The old points system final tally

So what did you all think of the new system vs the old?

Mixed. I didn't like that everyone else was expected to pull over or race differently around the chase guys, but other than that, it did make it exciting those last few races.

I love the new system. Before the final 10 races it gave drivers fighting for the final spots alot of attention and made it more exciting. Then the final 10 races were great because it was so cloose when usually its 1 or 2 guys who run away with it and thats it.

completely agree. and am especially happy now that i see jeffy would have won under old rules. i also believe the way it is done now is right since busch, although not winning many races, was week in and week out continually in the top 10. if only jr. and his team can keep from having one really bad race every once in awhile he can start winning championiships... :headbang

I am so confused on how you get points in NASCAR :huh Is it like based on how many 1st place finishes you have or overall rank?
